'Whitney' film review

For millions of fans around the world, Whitney Houston was larger than life. And after she left us way too soon, the world was left to ponder what was in her heart. Now Kevin MacDonald's documentary brings the untold story that for the very first time gives us an intimate and in-depth look at the life of this iconic music legend.

Kevin Macdonald is known as the Oscar-winning documentary director. He has won the Academy Award for One Day in September (1999), a docu movie about the Palestinian terrorist group Black September.

Macdonald is also known for his feature movies such as The Last King of Scotland (2006) and State of Play (2009).

With Whitney (2018), Macdonald tries to take an in-depth look at the life and music of Whitney Houston, interviewing her family members and numerous big shots from the music industry: Bobby Brown, Cissy Houston, Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, Clive Davis, L. A. Reid...
