Tom Hardy has confirmed there are plans to make two more 'Mad Max' movies. The British actor played the title character in 'Mad Max: Fury Road' in 2015, which also starred Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The film was a huge critical success and received ten Academy Award nominations, going on to win six of the accolades. And fans of George Miller's epic action flick will be pleased to know that the story of Max Rockatansky is far from over.
For now, only one movie is in the making - Mad Max: The Wasteland. George Miller is attached to direct, and Nick Lathouris will co-write the script with Miller.
Also, only cast member listed is Tom Hardy - there is no news about Charlize Theron reprising her role, or any other actor/actress appearing in the fifth installment of the franchise.
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) is George Miller's pet-project, that he started way back in 1979 with the first movie about the post-apocalyptic Earth - Mad Max (1979).
The second movie The Road Warrior (1981) was even bigger hit, and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) established Miller and Mel Gibson (who played the original Max) as a force to be reckoned with.
