The drama 'The Bookshop' is based on the acclaimed novel of the same name and tells the story of a free spirited widow, played by Emily Mortimer, who opens the title store in 1950's rural England. This, however, makes her not so popular with the locals. The movie premiered at the Berlin Film Festival where we spoke to Emily about how she deals with failure… in her character as well as in her own career.
The Bookshop (2017) is the upcoming drama that is set in a small town in 1959 England. The story follows a woman who decides, against polite but ruthless local opposition, to open a bookshop. This decision becomes a political minefield.
Directed and written by Isabel Coixet, The Bookshop (2017) is based on the novel by Penelope Fitzgerald.
Emily Mortimer, Bill Nighy, and Patricia Clarkson are playing leading roles.
Even though this movie already started its festival life, the worldwide theatrical release is set for August 24, 2018.
