'Manchester by the Sea' star Lucas Hedges is to star as Shia LaBeouf in a new biopic. The 21-year-old, who was nominated for an Oscar last year, will play a teenage version of the troubled actor in 'Honey Boy', a drama written by LaBeouf about his relationship with his father.
Young Israeli director Alma Har'el will direct Honey Boy, a biopic about Shia LaBeouf's life as a child.
Shia LaBeouf is, if you don't know, the famous actor, known for his movies Lawless (2012), Fury (2014), American Honey (2016) and for appearing in Transformers franchise of movies.
Honey Boy will concentrate on LaBeouf's childhood, and his relationship with his hard-drinking, law-breaking father.
Shia LaBeouf will play his father, and young Shia will be portrayed by a rising star Lucas Hedges.
LaBeouf only used his family misfortune as a basis for Honey Boy, and there will be no real names used in the movie. LaBeouf's character will be called James Lort, and his son will be Otis Lort.
