The Newbies of Hollywood: Lucas Hedges

Lucas Hedges was born in New York, the son of Oscar nominated screenwriter and director Peter Hedges. But he didn't rely on his dad for an introduction to Hollywood. A casting director happened to see Lucas in a school play, and his career was soon up and running.

The Young and talented Lucas Hedges already has an Oscar nomination and he has appeared in some of the hottest movies from the last five years: Moonrise Kingdom (2012), Zero Theorem (2013), Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), Manchester by the Sea (2016), Lady Bird (2017) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017).

Hedges was born on December 12, 1996 in New York City. His father is an Oscar-nominated screenwriter and director Peter Hedges and his mother Susan Bruce is an actress and a poet.

Lucas Hedges debuted in the big screen title Dan in Real Life (2007), and he also appeared in Arthur Newman (2012), Labor Day (2013), Kill the Messenger (2014), and Anesthesia (2015).

Hedges was also big in TV series The Slap (2015).

He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, for his excellent role in Manchester by the Sea (2016).

He will appear in three movies this year: Mid '90s (2018), Boy Erased (2018) and Ben is Back (2018).
