Call Me by Your Name (2017) is a drama/romance feature film directed by Luca Guadagnino. The film is set in Northern Italy in 1983. Story follows seventeen year old Elio who begins a relationship with visiting Oliver, his father's research assistant, with whom he bonds over his emerging sexuality and their Jewish heritage.
It premiered on November 24, 2017, and it is getting only good reviews. The movie is nominated for four Oscar statuettes.
The director Luca Guadagnino is an Italian movie director known for films such as: Melissa P. (2005), I Am Love (2009) and A Bigger Splash (2015).
Call Me by Your Name (2017) was adapted and written for screen by James Ivory, a three-time Oscar nominated writer/director, and it was based on the novel by Andre Aciman.
Guadagnino is hoping that Call Me by Your Name (2017) will be only a tip of the ice berg, and that he will direct a whole bunch of movies about Elio, and his adulthood.
