Fun Facts: 'August: Osage County'

It's often the biggest blockbusters that dominate the box office, but most of the time it's the smaller movies that make the most impact. One good example of a picture like that is 2013's 'August: Osage County'.

August: Osage County (2013) is a movie about the lives of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose paths have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Oklahoma house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.

John Wells directed the movie, and Tracy Letts wrote the script, based on her own play of the same name.

August: Osage County (2013) is full of famous names such as Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper, Ewan McGregor, Margo Martindale, Sam Shepard, Juliette Lewis, Benedict Cumberbatch...

The movie had two Academy Awards nominations: for Best Leading actress - Meryl Streep; and for Best Supporting Actress - Julia Roberts.

Sadly, both of these amazing actresses were left without prizes, but their performances are still relevant.
